Dear Member,
I would like to start this email by thanking you all for the friendship and kindness you have shown me at Carmarthen Golf Club, you truly are a great club. As you know from having received a recent email from the Captain, Peter Jones I am no longer able to provide services to Carmarthen Golf Club due to taking on a more involved role in managing Glyn Abbey Golf Club. I will of course continue to deliver lessons at the club beyond the end of this month, until a suitable replacement is found.
I was brought in by the team of Directors to provide Professional services at the club at a point when, having been without a PGA Professional for a period of time, there was some uncertainty over whether the club could warrant and sustain the cost of a PGA Professional. Over the last 7 months I believe we have answered that question and I will be actively helping the Directors to find a suitable replacement. In my opinion Carmarthen Golf Club is an excellent prospect for a PGA Professional, and is a service that members need, want and deserve. I also hope to be able to provide any support the Directors feel is needed during the transition period until such time as a replacement Professional has been found.
Last Week
Thursday - Seniors 4BBB won by Ian Ritchie & Fred Steel with 45 points.
Friday - West Wales Golfing Alliance Society enjoyed their day and were very complementary of the course.
Sunday - Spirit Trail 3 was won by the team of Nick Ingram, Jane Ingram & Huw Rees with 66 points
Monday - Seniors Qualifier was won by Fred Steel with 34 points beating Mike Davies, Alan Edwards & Ray Sinden on back 9 countback
Tuesday - Ladies Turkey Trail & Eclectic result unknown.
Coming Up:
Thursday - Seniors Individual Stableford 0900-1202
Saturday - Texas Scramble (Playing the course backwards) in order to raise funds for the junior trip to Portugal representing Wales. To increase numbers, we will accept bookings from individuals & we will then place you in a team. 1130 Shotgun Start
Sunday - Winter League 2 0830-0930 & 1130-1240
Tuesday - Ladies 9 hole Accumulator 1100-1230
