Dear Member,
Obviously I'm going to start this weeks email be congratulating the first team on their victory over Ashburnham in the 1st round of the Welsh Team Championships. Well done boys and with such a young team, very promising for the future.
On the subject of young talent well done to Iestyn McAvoy who equalled the course record at Glynhir on Tuesday 7th August in the Junior Open OOM with a 66 gross! Carmarthen cleaned up as Iestyn won both the gross and the nett and Megan Thomas won the gross and nett in the Girls Medal.

Friday - MS Charity Day had a really good turn out and weather held out after 15mm of rain in 45mins in the morning
1st Round of Welsh Team Champs Carmarthen beat Ashburnham 3-2 with Ian "Iron Man" Marks winning the match for us on the 20th hole. Scott Jones managed a hole in 1 on the 2nd in his match.
Saturday - Ladies Medal 8 was won by Brenda Richards
Junior Club Championship Round 1 postponed
2nd Round of Welsh Team Champs Carmarthen lost to Henllys Hall 3.5-1.5 in what sounded like a battle in horrible conditions. A special thanks to those who kept us informed on the WhatsApp group chat.
Sunday - Coronation Cup cancelled
Junior Club Champs Round 2 postponed
Tuesday - Ladies Dolly Ashley Cup won by Sylvia Lewis with Nett 66 and Lowest Gross went to Elin Jones with 86.
Other Ladies Results:
The Ladies league match against Derllys Court Golf Club at home was won by Derllys 3.5 to 1.5 and the Milford Haven Golf Club away was won by Milford 3 to 2.
The Texas Scramble played on 7th August was won with 64 points by Patricia Langley, Anne Ashley-Jones and Avrile Rees.
The Glamorganshire Golf Club Open which was held on Thursday 9th August with one of our teams, Patricia Langley, Eleanor Goodman and Brenda Nolan coming third with 84 points.
The St Mellons Senior Open was won by Sheila Neate, Tracy Waring and Paula James. Paula James has the only 2 of the day.

More members have joined again this week and more visitors are coming and enjoying. The news is spreading of how good the condition of the course is and more importantly how welcome people are being made to feel by you the members. Well done all, its a pleasure to be a part of such a warm and friendly club.
On a personal note thankyou all for your continued support, I will be taking a next week off and Carwyn will be doing the weekly email. I will be back coaching on Tuesday 28th.
