Senior County coach joins Carmarthen Golf Club as PGA Professional
Carmarthen Golf Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Clive Coombs as their new PGA professional.
Clive, who is well known throughout Golf in Wales, commenced his career at Cardiff Golf Club and after working as a professional at several other golf clubs in South Wales, moved on to become The Golf Manager at the Vale Resort and Golf Academy, developing it into one of the top performing coaching venues in Wales.
He has coached at a very senior level, coaching several international players and is the current coach for the Glamorgan County Team.
He is especially well known for his commitment to junior golfers, beginners and to people just starting the game for the first time. He will be responsible for all coaching at Carmarthen Golf Club, which boasts a large covered driving range, an academy course and several other first class practice facilities.
He will also be responsible for the golf shop at Carmarthen which will be stocked with men`s and ladies golf apparel and golf equipment from all the leading suppliers.
Clive who will commence his duties on April 1st commented on his appointment “I am delighted to be joining Carmarthen G.C as their Golf Professional and bring my vast golfing experience to the club, developing a first class coaching academy and retail facility. I am looking forward to establish service excellence within the club, to the membership and visitors. The club is a wonderful historic and established golf club, with a spectacular golf course and breath-taking views”
Clive will report to the trading board of Carmarthen Golf Club, and its chairman Colin Lewis added “this appointment is a highly significant one for our club. We are ambitious for the future and I am convinced Clive will take us forward by developing all aspects of the golfing experience”
