Dear Member

Even though the weather hasn't been great, there have been glimpses of sunshine and members and guests have been taking full advantage of it. It's wonderful to see grass tees, main greens and the first official comp of the year underway! Add to that the Masters kicking off on Thursday and the season has well and truly begun.

Last Week (in brief)

Last Tuesday the Ladies had a good entry for the Australian Spoons Foursomes, Eleanor Goodman and Ina Davies came out on top, beating previous champions Edna Morris and Ann Morris on count back.
Thursday we welcomed the Glamorgan Farmers to the Club, 29 players all enjoyed the course and the food. The seniors also went out and Fred Steel won Div 1 with 40 pts, Elwyn Morgan won Div 2 with 43pts and Gerwyn Davies was the Div 3 winner with 36pts.
Saturday was the Duxberry Shield the first official comp of the season, Brian Hurley came out on top with a fantastic 41 points.
Martin, Sandy and the team had a very busy time on Easter Sunday with nearly 100 guests enjoying their fabulous Carvery.

Other News.

I am still enjoying my honeymoon period at the club and I am delighted with the amount of you who have been having lessons, popping in for a chat and sending good luck emails. The Schools coaching project is going to plan and I will soon be starting a Sunday morning Junior class (9am). The beginner membership has been well received and I'm delighted to announce we took our 1st new beginner member last week, if you know of anyone who you think would like to start playing, please point them my way. I hope you all enjoy watching the Masters this week, especially those of you fortunate enough to be travelling out to Georgia!!!

Hope to see you at the club soon

Mike
