Dear Member

I am sure you will agree that it was very regrettable to hear that our PGA Professional Mike Davies is leaving us to take up a more involved role at Glyn Abbey Golf Club.  In the short time he was at the club he made a big impression and I would like to take this opportunity to add my personal thanks for his help and tuition and to wish him the very best of luck for the future.

Shortly after Mike joined he introduced his weekly update email which I felt was a great idea in communicating news and results and is something that I looked forward to reading every week.  I am keen to see this legacy maintained until such time as a new professional is appointed.

Therefore if you have any news and/or pictures that you would like to share I would be grateful if you would forward these to my email address (fred_bryncerrig@outlook.com) and I will do my best for these to be included.

On the course:
For the next two weeks Head Greenkeeper Andrew Steele and team will be undertaking the monthly aeration programme on the greens. This import work will only take a few days and every effort will be made to try to keep out of the way of golfers as much as possible.

In addition work will start on tree maintenance. This will mainly involve removing lower branches to allow light and air movement around the greens and removing branches around some of the tees to try to gain back some teeing ground i.e. the 7th tee for example.
