Another amazing week of weather and we've certainly had the standard of golf to match! Please note that as a safety precaution smoking has now been banned on the course until further notice. I apologize to all smokers and we hope to get the ban lifted as soon as possible.

Thursday- Seniors Championship Vets Cup won by Alun Davies Nett 67 Lowest Gross Len Davies Gross78
Summer League Lowest Nett & Gross Luke Heap 76 - 69
Friday -  Ladies v Haverfordwest not sure of result yet sorry.
Carmarthen A beat Mountain Ash A Away 2-1
Saturday- Captain's Day Medal was won by Steven Rees (pictured) with a Nett 67 Gross 70
Captain's Day Stableford won by Huw Jones 39 points
Nearest the pin on the 9th went with Chris Reynolds who holed his tee shot!
Nearest the pin in 2 on the 16th went to Rhys Lindquist who holed his second shot

Sunday- Mr Bignall Society thoroughly enjoyed the course and the welcome they had unfortunately they couldn't enjoy our wonderful carvery due to the roof collapse in the resturant.

The Rutherford Cup was won by Aled & Jane Thomas with a Nett 67.6

Tuesday- Seniors Open Day was split in 3 categories.
Category A (55-69) was won by Clive Evans with 38 points (Overall 2nd)
Category B (70+) was won by Ian Martin with 39 points (Overall Winner)
Category 3 (Visitors) won by Brian Fry from Rhondda Golf Club with 37 points (Overall 5th)

Longest Drive was Allan Shrimpton from the Grove with a 270y drive on the 1st!!!
Nearest the Pin on the 9th went to Alun Davies who was 26.25" away
Nearest the pin on 15th went to Stuart Barclay who was 8'2" away.

Wednesday - Centenary shootout, the top 10 who qualified from the Centenary Challenge all teed off at 5pm and after 8 holes there were only 2 left with Tom Williams winning.

Other News

In the R&A 9-hole Qualifier.
Alan Evans and Stuart Barclay narrowly missed out from playing in the final at Carnoustie by 1 shot – the two teams from Wales going through are Whitchurch 41 points and Idloes 40. Alan and Stuart had 39.We will be running this competition again next year so I hope more of you will enter – it is free and you could be playing the final in one of the top venues all expenses paid – so please give it a go.

The Owen Money night on 4th of August has sold out and anyone who has yet paid for their ticket has until 17th of July to pay for them or their tickets will be offered to the people on the reserve list

Important - Can all members who haven't filled in their General Data Protection Regulation forms to do so at their earliest possible convenience.

We need a few volunteers to help with ball spotting on Sunday 8th July for the PING Junior Tour event.  If you could help please let Carwyn know by 4pm tomorrow.
