2018 Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards

Congratulations to Jamie….

A host of Carmarthenshire's top sporting talents were celebrated at a gala evening last Friday, 8th February at The Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli with our own Jamie Dean in the running for young sports personality of the year award.  The annual awards recognise the sporting achievements and successes of individuals, sports clubs, school teams as well as acknowledging the contribution made by dedicated coaches and hardworking volunteers who really make a difference through sport and local communities.  Jamie came runner up to winning athlete Ben Thomas but wearing his club tie and supported by his mum and dad Mel and Martin he proudly received his second place prize.  Members are delighted for Jamie to have received recognition at this awards ceremony.

Trick Shot of the Year….(so far!!)

Top candidate for 2019 trick shot of the year is Ryan Bowen.  Playing recently with new member John Williams, Ryan managed his first unofficial hole-in-one playing the 4th hole……!!.  A severe hook with his drive off the 4th tee somehow saw his ball end up in the hole on the 11th green.  Ryan is happy to share the story and to have his leg pulled for at least the rest of the year.
